100 Acre Purchase for Harrow!

100 Acre Purchase for Harrow!
Harrow Estates has successfully purchased the redundant former paper mill site at Sudbrook, near Caldicot, South Wales. Comprising a total of 100 acres, the ownership includes the 25 acre former Paper Mill, agricultural land and an Iron Age fort which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The site was acquired from St. Regis Paper Company Ltd.

The site has been derelict since being decommissioned by St. Regis several years ago and has a negative impact on the local landscape. The site occupies a prominent position within the village of Sudbrook with superb views across the Severn Estuary to England, and of the second Severn Crossing. Close to the towns of Caldicot and Chepstow which offer links to the M4 motorway network and the mainline rail service. The site is ideally located for redevelopment.

In acquiring the site, Harrow Estates successfully found solutions to several complex issues surrounding the site’s future re-use, establishing a strong platform from which to promote and achieve the site’s regeneration.

Harrow Estates have already commenced initial discussions with the local planning authority and will seek to work with local community groups to find the best solution for the site’s redevelopment and provide benefits for the community as a whole.
