Forest of Dean Purchase

Forest of Dean Purchase
Harrow Estates has purchased a site in the Forest of Dean; the former Vencil Resil factory in Whitecroft, near Lydney, Gloucestershire.

The site has been acquired from Jabelite Limited, the parent company of Vencil Resil, and via agents Lambert Smith Hampton. It has been vacant since 2009 when Vencil Resil closed the plant.

The site has a long industrial history, including historic coal mining, a latex works and most recently a manufacturer of polystyrene products mainly for the building industry. The site comprises a total of 7.1 acres in the south of the pretty village of Whitecroft on the southern edge of the Forest of Dean, one of England’s few remaining ancient woodlands. The site has links to Gloucester and the M5 to the northeast and to Chepstow, the M4 and South Wales to the southwest and Monmouth and the A40 to the north. The town of Lydney is 2 miles to the south of the site.

Harrow Estates have commenced initial discussions with the local planning authority and commissioned a variety of baseline surveys and feasibility assessments prior to consultation with the local community for the future redevelopment of this site.
