Planning Success at South Cerney

Planning Success at South Cerney
Harrow Estates’ site at South Cerney within the Cotswolds Water Park, moved a step closer to redevelopment having received support from both Cotswold District Council and the Parish Council.

The outline Planning Application for the proposed development for up to 150 new homes, a new Community building and extensive public green open spaces and woodland received a Resolution to Grant permission in June, earlier this month.

The site, a former aggregate works in the heart of the village, is underused industrial land and in need of regeneration. Harrow has overcome several significant technical issues on the site in order to demonstrate its suitability for redevelopment to provide much needed family homes for the area.

This application is an example of Harrow Estates’ proactive response to the Government’s new Localism Agenda, with the local community influencing the evolution of the scheme. The result is a sensitive regeneration of a redundant brownfield site in the centre of the community which delivers a balance of real important benefits to the local community.
