Every year Harrow chooses a local charity to support by donating all financial contributions that are received through the various corporate events that we both host and take part in, such as golf days, sailing trips and cycling competitions.
Picking up from where we tee'd off the previous year, all teams successfully managed to navigate their way around the course in good spirits raising £640 for charity in the process
By 2015 the Red Harrows had adopted more members from outside the company and a new cycling challenge - the Velothon Wales. This inaugural event starting in Cardiff with 15,000 other cyclists allowed us to take on The Tumble climb and Caerphilly mountain.
Harrow Estates hosted our first annual golf day at Avro Golf Club in Woodford which was billed as a day for non-golfers and attended by contractors and consultants. The quality of the golf was as expected, generally poor but the event raised £753.
Mark took part in the Manchester 100mile bike ride raising £381.25 for the two nominanted charities.
Samantha Lenehan trained for and took part in her first 10k run raising £546.75
In 2014, Harrow Estates adopted The Joshua Tree as our chosen charity for the year and took on the London Revolution, a two-day cycling event covering 190 miles including the Chilterns, the North Downs and the iconic Box Hill, raising over £3,000 for our charity.
Mike Riding organised a sailing trip for staff and guests to the Firth of Clyde raising £340 in the process.
In aid of Childhood cancers, Lorna Burchell hosted her own coffee morning at home for friends and family and Harrow held one in the office raising £246.50 for our nominated charity.
Harrow Estates was approached by two film companies wishing to use the Woodford Aerodrome to film two new productions. The proceeds from this hire of the facilty were donated by Harrow Estates and amounted to £4,750.
During the year, the Harrow Estates team undertook various small events including a 'Guess Who?' Baby competition, a Grand National Sweep, Dress Down Days, Pasta Eating Competition, a World Cup Challenge as well as donating an amount in lieu for Christmas Cards raising £533.
A day with the Gurkhas, Mark, Lee and Martin walked 100km (63miles) along the South Downs in atrocious conditions and through the night completing the challenge in 24hours 32minutes raising over £5,000 for the charities.
