Planning permission granted for Essex former prison

Harrow Estates has now secured outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the former HMP Bullwood Hall prison site in Hockley, Essex.

The proposals, which will see the former prison redeveloped to deliver up to 60 new homes, were submitted to Rochford District Council in August 2015 and have been determined within a six month timeframe.

Mike Riding, Managing Director at Harrow Estates said: "Our in house planning and legal teams have worked closely with the Council's officers to progress the application and it is really positive to see that this has resulted in a timely decision.  Our technical team will now submit the necessary technical reports to the Council to discharge planning conditions before commencing work on site."
