Earlier this week, detailed proposals for the former sewage treatment works site in Maidenhead received the unanimous support of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Planning Committee.
The application sought full planning permission for the redevelopment of the vacant site, which had most recently been used as a Park and Ride car park, and the construction of 271 residential dwellings with access, parking, landscaping and a play area.
Tim Noden, Planning Manager at Harrow Estates said: “The Stafferton Way site offers a rare opportunity to deliver new homes on an underused Green Belt site in a sustainable location within walking distance of Maidenhead Town Centre. The site’s redevelopment will support existing regeneration activities in the town centre and will make a valuable contribution towards meeting housing needs in the area.”
