The care home operator has exchanged contracts with Harrow Estates to take 4 acres of the former airfield for 104 homes. Plans are now in with Stockport council.
Working with Brewster Bye Architects, Anchor Hanover, described as England’s largest not-for-profit provider of specialist housing and later life care, aims to build 87 affordable rent or shared ownership apartments and 17 shared ownership bungalows.
Catering and other amenities will be available to residents. The site sits within the garden village-type development being advanced by Harrow at the 500-acre former BAE Systems site, which when complete will include 920 homes.
